Pro Bono Network
LGBTI Legal Service Pro Bono Network
The LGBTI Legal Service is a small community legal centre and as such, our Service relies on the generosity of lawyers and firms who can provide us with pro-bono legal assistance. Lawyers who volunteer at our evening advice sessions do so on a pro-bono basis. Furthermore, our pro-bono network extends to assistance with active cases taken on by the Service. This type of pro-bono assistance may be in the form of court representation, providing expert opinion on complex legal issues and drafting letters and court documents for our clients. These services are often time consuming for lawyers and expensive for clients. Expanding our pro-bono network since the service began has allowed LGBTI Legal Service to grow and to take on more active cases for our clients.
The LGBTI Legal Service thanks all past and present pro-bono lawyers and firms who have assisted the Service since 2010.
As such, the network’s main functions include:
Developing or assisting in the development of reform discussion papers and parliamentary submissions.
Professional review of submissions or papers written by the Legal Service.
Professional review of legal information resources developed by the Legal Service.
