We have a new President

We are excited to introduce our new President, Kathryn Cramp.

Kathryn has extensive knowledge and experience in taxation and employment law, and displays a strong passion for supporting the LGBTIQA+ community and providing access to justice for all.

Welcome, Kathryn, your dedication and passion for the service and the LGBTIQA+ Community is honorable and inspiring. We look forward to continuing to have your knowledge, passion, and involvement with the service in your new position as President.

 

Get to know Kathryn

Kathryn has been volunteering with the LGBTI Legal Service since in 2014 and became a member of the Management Committee in 2019. Kathryn acts as President and Executive Director of the Legal Service preparing law reform submissions, creating community legal education material and creating fundraising opportunities. She also serves on the Brisbane South Primary Health Network Community Advisory Board addressing LGBTIQA+ issues in the context of health care delivery by general practitioners.

Kathryn’s volunteer history includes volunteering with Australian Lawyers for Human Rights on the management committee and as co-chair of the LGBTI Subcommittee, and with Brisbane Pride on the management committee. She also volunteered as the Queensland Women’s Coordinator for Out For Australia, as Legal Assistant to the Asylum & Refugee Law Project and as a student volunteer with the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service and Caxton Legal Centre.

Kathryn was also previously the President and Queer Officer of UQ Union. She now works full time in government following her time in the private sector in employment and migration law.
